1998 Heuliez Pregunta

Pregunta — последний Lamborghini, созданный до того, как итальянская компания была поглощена концерном Volkswagen. Дизайн Pregunta вдохновлён французским истребителем Dassault Rafale, сегодня его формы завораживают не меньше, чем четверть века назад.

В 1990-х компания Lamborghini переходила из рук в руки: разработка Pregunta началась ещё в эпоху Chrysler, а премьера состоялась в октябре 1998 года на Парижском автосалоне, всего через месяц после того, как Lamborghini вошла в состав концерна Volkswagen и была передана на попечение Audi. Разработка Lamborghini Pregunta была поручена французскому кузовному ателье Heuliez, которое тогда возглавлял Марк Дешам, до этого работавший в Bertone.

Pregunta — это не просто концепт, а полнофункциональный прототип, с его помощью Lamborghini хотела представить, каким мог бы быть наследник флагманского суперкара Diablo. От Diablo единственному экземпляру Pregunta достались подвеска и силовой агрегат, а вот углепластиковый кузов и салон были сделаны с чистого листа.

Кузов Pregunta окрашен в тот же серый матовый цвет, что и истребитель Dassault Rafale. Верхний центральный воздухозаборник задаёт силуэт крыши, которая является съёмной — две боковые половинки из поликарбоната укрывают седоков от дождя. Наружных зеркал нет, их заменяют камеры, изображения с которых транслируются на мониторы в салоне.

Двухместный салон Pregunta ничем не напоминает Diablo, здесь своя очень замысловатая на вид передняя панель с формульным приборным экраном Magneti Marelli, в оснащение входят навигационная система, мощная аудиосистема Alpine и атмосферная оптоволоконная подсветка. Кресла напоминают на вид авиационные и оснащены четырёхточечными ремнями безопасности.

Расположенный продольно за салоном 5,7-литровый атмосферный V12 оснащён изготовленной на заказ выхлопной системой Quicksilver из нержавеющей стали, его максимальная отдача — 537 л.с. и 605 Нм. Вся мощность передаётся на задние колёса через 5-ступенчатую МКП. Разгон до 100 км/ч занимает 3,9 с, максимальная скорость — 333 км/ч.

На смену Diablo, как известно, в итоге пришла модель Murcielago, ну а Pregunta так и осталась в единственном экземпляре, который, к счастью, дожил до наших дней. Ателье Heuliez, к слову, сегодня больше нет, оно было ликвидировано в 2013 году.

In Spanish PREGUNTA means "question". This car was an original way of questioning the motor world to ask if it is aware of all of the HEULIEZ GROUP’s abilities and possibilities, a European industrial reality.

So the PREGUNTA is an aggressive act of defiance that needs to and must succeed in demonstrating the HEULIEZ Group’s ability to design and produce a real car and not just a simple exhibition prototype.

This one off was built in 1998 based on the Diablo chassis and mechanicals. An "ugly" car according to some, but I rather like the agressive styling not present in the Canto. To bad this design hadn"t appeared earlier when Lamborghini were deciding on the new replacement "Super Diablo".

From the very first moment, the lines of the PREGUNTA make an impression. Its aerodynamic properties and a deliberately aeronautical design, result in a two-seater speedster with sensations of power and dynamism.

HEULIEZ has dressed the refined mechanics in an outfit that can be instantly identified. It’s one of a kind. It is thus a mixture of technology and extreme shapes where aerodynamic properties and combined with beauty and elegance.

A tough, powerful car the strength of which is natural but not ostentatious, the front of the PREGUNTA reminds you of a sport-prototype vehicle while the back is more like a fighter plane. PREGUNTA gives you the sensation of supersonic flight and does it magnificently; even if the front remains typical of a racing car, a glance at the sides show that they are sculptured and planed down to guide the aerodynamics towards two air inlets that are in the shape of a streamline jet engine. As far as the rear end is concerned, although it is very shapely, the finish is sharp.

Inside two distinct areas can be observed: a driving or even piloting side for the driver and a comfortable side for the passenger. Once again the aeronautical inspiration is visible, including in the materials and the upholstery, in an attempt to rigorously respect the main mission of the PREGUNTA: to go like the wind.

The PREGUNTA equipment uses the latest devices particularly the formula-1-type dashboard by Magnetti-Marelli, the Cristine navigational aid by BCI, the CD stereo equipment by Alpine who also supplies the screens for the rear view system, the 4-point self-winding seat belts by Schrott, the fibre optical atmospheric lighting by DGA and the steering wheel by Classic Board.

It is thus a mixture of technology and extreme shapes where aerodynamic properties are combined with beauty and elegance.
