CQ - Comfort Quality
Aluminum was widely used in the construction of the CQ-X. The interior sported multiple airbags, turn lights set into rear view mirrors, a navigation system, and even a system that will attempt to wake a sleeping driver. The CQ-X is a Front-engine, FWD vehicle using a 2-Liter I4 with 165hp.
A Dialogue with the Road, Unbridled Running....
"Future performance for family use."
The CQ-X is aimed at life in the years 200X. Matching the expected huge differences in future traffic systems.
Together with safety, improvement in fuel consumption and human interface. This is a medium class front-engine front-drive sedan pursued thoroughly to the above points.
This model was moved forward and developed on the AQ-X concepts published in 1993.
Exploring possibilities of the car for the new age.
Nissan proposes visions of future life through the car.
The CQ-X creates the future in its package. A rational style was achieved in a reduced overall length yet showing increases in overall height and in the trunk. In addition to remaining in the top class among Japanese cars, large trunk room (VDA method of measurement), and strict collision safety conditions are considered. In consequence although limited in body size, a comfortable roomy interior space which caters for long distance drives is secured.
Interior Design The interior was designed so that four adults can travel in safety and comfort. Not only for the CQ-X; this is an important point for interior design of any car. Roomy interior space is acquired by using a long wheelbase and enough interior height, while expecting changes to the human build looking to the future. In addition to adopting new generation ergonomic seats and a built-in child seat, an open air feeling is pursued such as in the high hip point of the rear seat. Furthermore, NISSAN has developed a new interior style which separates visual and operational systems by means of a mechanism analysis of senses of vision, touch and hearing.
