В основе Thar.e лежит платформа-скейтборд INGLO (India Global), созданная для электромобилей. Для внедорожников, построенных на этой архитектуре, заявлен дорожный просвет от 250 до 300 миллиметров и двухмоторная установка.

У Thar.e электродвигатели Volkswagen — тот, который установлен на передней оси, развивает 109 лошадиных сил, на задней — 286 сил. Емкость батарей не уточняется, зато известно, что запас хода составляет 435–450 километров по циклу WLTP.

Thar.e не похож на топливную версию Thar, он выглядит самобытнее, современнее и богаче. В салоне — цифровая панель приборов, планшет мультимедийной системы и отдельный экран для пассажира спереди. Как сообщает Mahindra, индийский композитор Алла Ракха Рахман создал специально для концепт-кара уникальный звуковой ряд: он насчитывает более 70 различных звуков, от приветствия при открывании двери до щелчков поворотников.

Известно, что Mahindra намерена начать выпуск электромобилей на платформе INGLO весной 2024 года, а в продажу они поступят в декабре. Но первыми на рынке появятся электрические кроссоверы, а вот серийную версию Thar.e придется подождать.
