Powered by a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine last used in the 1987 Buick Grand National, the Syclone was built to boost interests in high-performance pick-up trucks. The 270-horsepower engine was teamed with an enhanced Turbo-Hydramatic, 3.42 rear gearing, and Goodyear Eagle GT 16-inch P245/50VR tires. With a top speed of 103 miles per hour, and an acceleration rate of 0-60 mph in under six seconds, the prototype Syclone also incorporated custom body
work, a rear spoiler, a deck cover, a front air dam, and two articulated bucket seats inside.
