THE ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLE is a two-passenger sporty urban car capable of operating on natural gas or methane — the same fuel used to heat houses — and can be refueled at home using a small compressor. The Ford Motor Company concept vehicle would be slightly more expensive than a comparable gasoline-fueled car, but methane Is substantially lees expensive than gasoline. The Alternative Fuel Vehicle is a featured attraction in Ford Division's 1982 auto show exhibit.
