Throughout his life, Bodo Buschmann had a particular passion for powerful, fast open-top automobiles. As an homage to the founder of BRABUS, the German luxury design house presents the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET as the open-top counterpart to the BRABUS BODO Gran Turismo Coupe and the latest expression of a dream first shared by Bodo Buschmann and his son Constantin nearly two decades ago.
The BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET made its worldwide debut at The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California in 2026. The BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET is limited to just 77 vehicles worldwide, produced as a separate limited series from the Gran Turismo Coupe.
The open-top 2+2-seater combines a coachbuilt carbon-fiber body with active aerodynamics and is presented in two distinctive launch configurations. The "Piano Black" vehicle features a matching black soft top, while the "Silk Stone" variant is equipped with a specially developed two-tone black and gray Jacquard roof covering featuring an inverted "77" motif woven directly into the fabric.
At its heart is a 5.2-liter V12 biturbo engine producing 735 kW / 1,000 hp and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of peak torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Gran Turismo accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds and reaches 300 km/h (186 mph) in 23.9 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 360 km/h (223 mph).
Bespoke 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z-GT "Platinum Edition" forged wheels are fitted with specially developed Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires carrying an exclusive "BB" sidewall marking.
Inside, both launch vehicles feature the same meticulously designed BRABUS Masterpiece cockpit, interpreted through two individual color and material concepts. The characteristically black supercar combines "Saddle Brown" leather and exposed carbon fiber in an unmistakable specification inspired by Bodo Buschmann, while the "Silk Stone" vehicle translates its unique exterior color into the leather, trim and carbon-fiber elements of the interior.
Each BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET will be individually manufactured in this limited series according to the wishes of its buyer. The base price is listed at 1,077,000 euros (export price not including VAT in Germany).
"The BRABUS BODO is both the next step for the brand and a tribute to my father, Bodo Buschmann. With this open-top Masterpiece, globally renowned luxury design house and bespoke vehicle manufactory BRABUS takes its coachbuilding philosophy to an entirely new level. The idea of developing a BRABUS supercar of this caliber originated two decades ago, when company founder Bodo Buschmann and his son Constantin first began discussing an exclusive high-performance Gran Turismo with an unmistakable design identity. In 2026, that vision became reality in the form of the exclusive BODO Gran Turismo Coupe. It is now joined by the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET, an open-top 2+2-seater powered by a 735 kW / 1,000 hp biturbo V12 engine, making it one of the fastest open-top supercars in the world.
As with the BODO Gran Turismo Coupe, the entire body of the cabriolet is manufactured from exceptionally strong yet lightweight carbon fiber using the pre-preg process. For this highly demanding production method, BRABUS operates its own composites facility, where every component is manufactured under pressure in an autoclave. State-of-the-art technology ensures maximum precision of fit and flawless surface quality.
The electrically operated and extensively insulated folding roof of the 2+2-seater can be opened or closed in less than 15 seconds at the touch of a button in the cockpit. The "Piano Black" launch vehicle features a matching black soft top, while the "Silk Stone" variant is equipped with a specially developed two-tone black and gray Jacquard roof covering. Its distinctive design is woven directly into the structural fabric rather than applied as a print or coating. An inverted BRABUS "77" motif extends across the entire surface, creating a subtle relief effect while ensuring exceptional resistance to UV exposure, abrasion and repeated folding cycles. The result combines a unique visual signature with the durability, dimensional stability and premium tactile quality required for a high-performance convertible.
The striking front end of the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET is defined by its characteristic LED matrix headlights and radiator grille. Large RAM-AIR ducts positioned on either side provide the V12 engine with an optimum supply of fresh air. Integrated intakes in the front apron direct cooling air to the front brakes as well as the water and oil radiators, combining visual impact with functional cooling performance. The integrated carbon-fiber front spoiler generates aerodynamic downforce at the front axle at high speeds.
Its active counterpart at the rear is the electrically extendable carbon-fiber rear spoiler. Depending on vehicle speed, it deploys in several stages to progressively increase downforce at the rear axle and enhance driving stability. Under heavy braking above 140 km/h (87 mph), the spoiler pivots into a vertical position to act as an air brake, increasing aerodynamic drag and supporting effective deceleration. The inverted "77" logo positioned beneath the rear window is a further nod to 1977, the year Bodo Buschmann founded BRABUS.
At 202.7 centimeters (79.8 in.) wide, the BODO CABRIOLET has a commanding rear stance. Its taillight architecture provides another unmistakable design signature. The designers and engineers at the BRABUS headquarters in Bottrop, Germany, integrated seven individual LED lighting elements on each side, complemented by a centrally positioned illuminated BRABUS logo using the same lighting technology. The carbon-fiber diffuser integrated into the rear apron frames the titanium twin tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system on either side, produced using a high-tech 3D metal-printing process.
Like its Gran Turismo Coupe counterpart, the new open-top Masterpiece supercar measures 506.2 centimeters (199.3 in.) in length and stands just 130.5 centimeters (51.3 in.) tall, emphasizing its low, striking silhouette. Viewed from the side, the rear sections taper dynamically toward the back and transition seamlessly into the rear end. A defining element of the design is the "Bodo Line," a continuous contour extending from the vehicle's nose all the way to the rear on either side. As an additional detail, the BRABUS logo combined with a stylized graphic is projected onto the ground on both sides when the doors are opened.
The 2+2-seater's Kevlar-lined wheel arches accommodate 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z-GT "Platinum Edition" forged wheels. Manufactured using state-of-the-art forging technology and CNC machining, the design features 20 concave spokes and a center-lock-style hub cover. Renowned Italian manufacturer Pirelli is the exclusive supplier for the corresponding 22-inch P Zero high-performance tires.
Developed specifically for the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET and also available for the coupe model, the dedicated Pirelli P Zero measures 285/30 ZR 22 at the front and 335/25 ZR 22 at the rear. Its structure and compound were optimized to maximize high-speed stability and transfer the V12 engine's immense power and torque to the road while maintaining a high level of driving comfort and steering precision. The development process combined advanced virtual simulation with an extensive joint testing program in Papenburg, Germany. Across a range of dynamic driving scenarios, handling, stability and high-speed performance were rigorously evaluated and further refined to achieve the ideal interaction between tire, chassis and suspension. In line with Pirelli's Perfect Fit strategy, the bespoke tires are identified by an exclusive "BB" marking on the sidewall.
These high-end tires are also precisely matched to the advanced chassis architecture of the Gran Turismo Convertible, which features a double-wishbone front axle and a multi-link rear axle. Its specially developed suspension system with aluminum struts was created in collaboration with technology partner KW. Five different driving modes can be selected from the cockpit, ranging from a comfort-oriented setup for everyday driving to a more dynamic, performance-focused configuration.
To make it easier for the supercar to negotiate parking-garage ramps and speed bumps, a lift system is fitted to both the front and rear axles. It raises the entire vehicle by approximately 25 millimeters (1.0 in.). Once a speed of 45 km/h (28 mph) is reached, the suspension automatically returns to its normal ride height.
For maximum active safety, the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET is equipped with a comprehensive suite of modern safety and driver-assistance systems. These include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping, lane-change and blind-spot assistance, traffic-sign recognition and a high-tech traction-control system that ensures optimum traction at the rear wheels. Powerful and fade-resistant braking performance is provided by ventilated and perforated carbon-ceramic composite brake discs. At the front axle, 410 x 38 millimeter (16.1 x 1.5 in.) discs are combined with six-piston fixed calipers, while the rear axle features 360 x 38 millimeter (14.1 x 1.5 in.) discs paired with four-piston fixed calipers.
At the heart of the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET is one of the most powerful twelve-cylinder engines ever installed in a road-legal vehicle. Mounted behind the front axle in a front-mid-engine configuration, the 5.2-liter lightweight-alloy V12 features four-valve cylinder heads and a BRABUS high-performance forced-induction system. This incorporates two turbochargers developed specifically for the engine, a highly efficient intercooling system and a bespoke air-supply system fed by the RAM-AIR intakes at the front of the vehicle. BRABUS relies exclusively on lubricants from technology partner MOTUL for the entire powertrain.
The BRABUS stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system is calibrated with equal precision. Four carefully tuned metal catalytic converters and special gasoline particulate filters optimize exhaust backpressure across the rev range, supporting efficient gas flow and contributing to maximum power delivery. Electronically controlled exhaust valves allow the driver to vary the acoustic character from a more discreet tone to an extremely sporty V12 engine note. The complete system was refined by BRABUS' team of engineers and electronics specialists on test benches as well as during extensive road and racetrack testing, ensuring compliance with the stringent EURO 6E-ISC-FCM emissions standard.
The V12 produces 735 kW / 1,000 hp at 6,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft), available between 2,900 and 5,000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission with torque converter, which can also be operated manually using the carbon-fiber BRABUS paddle shifters at the steering wheel. An electronically controlled differential with up to 100 percent locking capability optimally distributes power between the two driven rear wheels.
From a standstill, the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.0 seconds. After 8.5 seconds, the 2+2-seater reaches 200 km/h (124 mph). The sprint from 0 to 300 km/h (186 mph) is completed in 23.9 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 360 km/h (223 mph).
The electronic engine-management system offers five selectable driving modes. "Wet" mode enhances stability in adverse road conditions by reducing the available torque and enabling smoother gear changes through the automatic transmission. In "GT" mode, the sporty yet comfortable suspension setup is complemented by powerful but harmonious power delivery and transmission characteristics. "Sport" mode sharpens the response of the V12 to accelerator inputs, while upshifts take place at higher engine speeds. At the same time, the exhaust valves open to create a sportier engine note, the steering becomes more direct and the damper setup firmer. For maximum driving pleasure, "Sport+" further sharpens the responses of both the powertrain and chassis and combines them with an even more prominent exhaust sound. In "Individual" mode, the driver can configure the available driving-dynamics parameters according to personal preference.
The BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET features a meticulously crafted BRABUS Masterpiece interior, with both launch vehicles sharing the same bespoke cockpit layout, equipment and brand-typical design details. Their individual character is defined through two distinctly different color and material concepts. The "Piano Black" variant combines fine "Saddle Brown" leather with matte BRABUS "Dark Shadow" trim and exposed carbon-fiber elements throughout the steering wheel, dashboard, center console and door panels. The resulting exterior-interior combination is distinctly inspired by Bodo Buschmann and his personal vision of elegant, understated Gran Turismo luxury. In the "Silk Stone" variant, the concept takes a more monochromatic approach: leather, trim elements and carbon-fiber components are all color-matched to the exterior, creating a seamless visual transition from bodywork to cockpit.
Passengers are welcomed by stainless-steel BRABUS entry panels and the embroidered signature of the vehicle's namesake integrated into the door panels. The ergonomically contoured seats combine exceptional long-distance comfort with strong lateral support during dynamic driving, while the silhouette of the BODO CABRIOLET embroidered into the seat backrests adds another bespoke detail. The flat-bottomed steering wheel is likewise designed for optimal grip, complemented by BRABUS carbon-fiber pedals and a custom footrest.
Characteristic BRABUS "Shell" quilting provides a defining visual theme across all four seats and extends to the leather-trimmed cockpit floor, rear deck, luggage compartment, floor mats and trunk liner. In the "Piano Black" vehicle, the interior features the traditional interpretation of the "Shell" pattern, while the "Silk Stone" specification introduces a newly stylized 3D evolution of the design. Centrally positioned "Double-B" logos and BRABUS Masterpiece plaques add the finishing touches to the exclusive interior treatment.
To complete the ownership experience, each BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET is delivered with a selection of bespoke accessories. The vehicle keys are trimmed in matching leather, while a leather BRABUS "Weekender" bag, likewise color-matched to individual interior configurations, provides the ideal companion for extended journeys and weekend escapes.
What is more, each vehicle is equipped with a blockchain-based Digital Product Passport, integrated directly into a dedicated BRABUS Spec Plate in the luggage compartment. Developed in collaboration with the Aura Blockchain Consortium, the system provides verified documentation of authenticity, ownership and vehicle specification - ensuring complete transparency and traceability for every BRABUS Masterpiece produced in Bottrop, Germany.
