Michelotti Fiat 128 Rallye Pulsar, 1971
The Pulsar was one of the first cars to feature shock absorbing bumpers.
Based on the Fiat 128, the Pulsar was constructed to study passenger safety and light material construction. The shock absorber was made of a special plastic, the headlights were retractable, and a body-integrated protective buffer ran around the car. The side windows were tinted and the car was finished in bright yellow to catch the attention of other drivers.
